Wedding season is well and truly upon us, and Hog Roast County Down were delighted to cater for Fiona’s big day last month. We are a hugely popular catering option for weddings across Northern Ireland. And this is because we’re a fully flexible service. We’ll be on hand to give ideas if you need some inspiration, but we’re more than happy to work with your vision too. Catering manager Jamie worked alongside Fiona to create her dream catering package. And, we were delighted that she was pleased with the final menus and serving style.

Fiona got in touch with us requesting that we serve food throughout the entire day. Firstly, we started with a welcome drink and canapes as guests arrived at the venue. Our waiters served beef in mini-Yorkshire puddings, beer-battered mini fish and chips and roasted duck wraps. It gave an opportunity for guests to mingle and tuck in while the couple posed for photographs. And when it came to the main course, our signature hog roast took centre stage. We arrived at the venue hours beforehand to get the roasting process underway, so it was ready to be served by mid-afternoon.
And as all guests are huge fans of our crispy crackling, we made sure there was plenty for everyone to help themselves to, as an extra treat. For those who weren’t a fan of pork, guests also had the alternative of sirloin beef drizzled with red wine gravy. As some vegetarians were coming along, Fiona also made sure there were other options, so she chose our delicious vegan pulled jackfruit (with the look and texture of pulled pork).
And once the party got into full swing, Hog Roast County Down were on hand to get the evening buffet underway. Fiona opted for hot bacon and sausage barms, served with a side salad and fries.
It was a truly memorable day that Hog Roast County Down were delighted to attend. Thank you to Fiona for booking us. If you’d like us to cater for your wedding day, give us a call.
