Celebrate Turning 21 With Hog Roast Holywood!

Even though UK laws allow citizens to vote, drink, marry without consent and sign contracts at 18 years old, the tradition of marking 21st birthdays has yet to be outshone. For many people, turning 21 is still viewed as a major milestone as it represents becoming a ‘proper adult’ and achieving the independence that comes with it. As a result, most people choose to save their biggest party for the day they turn 21, like Harry, who recently enjoyed a lively birthday bash with his friends and family.

Like the majority of people his age, Harry had been looking forward to his big day for quite some time, and thanks to his parents, he was able to really push the boat out and make the Hog Roast Holywoodoccasion a memorable one. After securing a function hall at a nearby hotel and renting decorations that fit with his chosen red and black theme, Harry turned his attention to catering.

With his heart set on having a tasty buffet with plenty of variety to suit the needs of all his guests – vegetarians and vegans included – Harry came to Hog Roast Holywood, where he was quick to find the perfect menu for his needs. Our catering manager, Jamie, had suggested our Southern Slow Roast Menu, which consists of three pre-marinated meat options, a meat-free choice and three homemade sides. This Deep South-inspired feast was ideal for Harry, and the affordable price tag was the icing on the cake!

Jamie and the Hog Roast Holywood team spent hours working on this spread before the party kicked off, meaning that when Harry and his guests arrived, they were able to get stuck into the buffet straight away. The feast, which included BBQ pork butt, Texan 24-hour beef brisket and Cajun-spiced whole roast chickens with BBQ pulled jackfruit rolls as the meat-free option and sides of coleslaw, corn on the cob and salads, was one of the main highlights of Harry’s party!

The food was insanely tasty – according to the guests – and once everyone had polished off their plates, Hog Roast Holywood served them each a slice of birthday cake with cream and mixed berries.
