Hog Roast Kilrea Helped A Couple Celebrate Their Postponed Wedding!

As we all know, last year, many brides and grooms were confronted with a very difficult decision. They could either get married with fewer guests present and no reception or honeymoon to follow, all while following the government’s strict social distancing and mask-wearing measures or cancel their big day entirely and risk losing out on a hefty deposit. Of course, neither scenario was ideal for anyone. But some, like Kristen and Shaun, found a way to make the best out of a bad situation.

This time last year, they opted to go through with their ceremony, which was only attended by a small handful of their most important guests, while the celebrations were postponed until a later date. That ‘later date’ finally arrived last weekend!

Hog Roast Kilrea On the day of their 1st wedding anniversary, Kristen and Shaun were joined by everyone from their original guest list, and together, they all travelled to a bespoke countryside hotel to celebrate the couple’s marriage. Hog Roast Kilrea was there to serve our tantalising Alfresco Wedding Menu, which began with Italian antipasti platters, filled to the brim with cold-cut meats, Buffalo mozzarella, Parmigiano and gorgonzola cheeses with artisan bread, salad dressings, sundried tomatoes and olives. We even prepared a sandwich selection for the children to pick away at before the hog roast main was served.

After catching up with family and friends, many of whom they hadn’t seen in well over a year, the wedding party had their photographs taken before Hog Roast Kilrea announced the completion of the spit roast. The pork, which had been slow-cooking all morning, was covered in a rich golden layer of crackling, which once carved, revealed an abundance of tender and succulent meat.

Our freshly made salads, gourmet coleslaw and chive-tossed buttered new potatoes were the ideal accompaniments to the hog roast rolls, which were gleefully received by each and every one of the guests. And, once everyone had finished eating, Hog Roast Kilrea cleared away the empty plates and replaced them with the guest’s choice of chocolate torte or tarte au citron with a fresh fruit coulis, followed by a slice of wedding cake and a hot drink.
